False Creek Seawall

The shore line of False Creek North is lined with a beautifully developed walking and bike path promenade. From the former site of Expo 86, the seawall leads lazily past the high rise towers, the green parks, marinas and Cambie Street Bridge until it reaches Science World at the easternmost point of False Creek inlet.

The views from the waterfront change as one travels along, from the north foot of Burrard Bridge looking first over to Granville Island, on to the marinas on the shores of False Creek South,  then to Charleson Park and Olympic Village. The Sea Wall continues past Science World along the southern shore of the Creek, where the views face north toward the towers and downtown Vancouver.

From all locations the activity of seaborne craft on this busy blue water inlet is a delightful reminder of Vancouver’s safe harbour status.

Yachts of all sizes, sail boats, canoes and dragon boats can all be seen making their happy way through the waters.

At every spot along the way the birds fly and flock, the light breeze and smell of the open salt air inspires the senses!

At all times of the year the False Creek Seawall is the place where the local residents and visitors to this fair city enjoy both exercise and the scenic wonders of the Creek. From Granville Island, the Seawall leads west right into Kitsilano.
