Getting Your Home Ready
- First impressions are important so it is best to really fix up your house before you put it on the market. Ensure that all the landscaping in your yard is neat and tidy and that the front entrance is clean and inviting. The garage should also be well organized and tidy.
- Within the interior of the house do a room by room check to ensure that there are no unsightly paint chips or loose hardware, and that all the light fixtures are in working order. Make sure that all the plumbing in your house is in proper working order as well.
- The appliances in your house should all be clean and well maintained, inside and out.
- The house should also be cleaned before each open house or showing so give your home the once over by vacuuming, moping, dusting etc before prospective buyers come over for a showing. Also remove any pet odors and hair and stash the cat box and survey the yard and remove any evidence of your dog
- Brighten up your house by placing some fresh cut flowers in a couple of the rooms and make sure that all your plants look healthy.
- Any and all valuables should be locked up or taken with you when the house is being visited by prospective buyers.
